Had a fantastic gig at Bo Pensionat the 28 of June. Harald Erici and I played music from both my record and his and also a lot of swedish visor and brazilian bossa. A nice mix of beautiful tunes. We were scared that the weather would stop us but we were lucky. The sun shined on us although it became a bit cold and damp in the end of the evening. But no rain!
We also had a guest performer. Veikko von Fürstenrecht played and sang along on some of the bossa tunes. He´s a really talented musician and it was a nice feature during the evening.
Hope to come back to Bo Pensionat and play next summer. What a great place to play at! And very nice owners and staff.
Today it is exactly one year since I was on Nyhetsmorgon promoting my new album Facing South. One year full of great reviews, amazing travels and meetings with wonderful people!
The only thing I would like to have done more is concerts but it´s hard these days. There are many good musicians out there to "compete" with and to be frank the most jazz clubs in Sweden don't have the guts to invite young bands because they are scared that the audience will fail them. Their audience is 60+ and they don't like jazzpop... or??? This makes me really sad and angry but the truth is that maybe the jazz scene is not for me.
Anyway, Im not going to let this bore me. Im so happy for all the nice comments from you "fans" out there and all the five- and four- and three-star reviews that I´ve got. I´m so glad that I had the opportunity to make a record and to see it being loved. That´s why I´m making a second one!
I celebrate this year by posting the clips from Nyhetsmorgon; FacingSouth, Jonathan and the interview! Thank you for your support! Enjoy!
As you may know I had the honor to be a host for Nefertiti´s jam sessions called Playhouse, tuesday nights all spring. I had a blast and although I only had two nights of my own I really got in to it. I wish I were the host every tuesday but sadly that´s not possible.
Anyway, my last evening I had a "Flora Purim Tribute" together with the lovely Lisa Bodelius from Stockholm playing trombone, Anna Eklund on electric bass, Simon Westman on piano and Fredrik Hamrå on drums. My dear friend Vicky sat in the audience and filmed this short clip that I would like to share with you all. Later in the evening she also entered the stage and preformed a fantastic version of the wonderful song "A child is born".
It was an amazing night and Im so glad because we had over a 100 people in the audience!
Thank you all for coming to Playhouse supporting me and my friends. See ya in september!
